2024 National Championship
We love it when the National Championship is in our backyard! Even if your student doesn’t qualify for Nats this year, this is a great opportunity to see the very best speakers and debaters from across the nation up close and in person. Join us for a day, or better yet - have a great season and qualify to go yourself!
North Carolina National Open
Ask our students and most of them will say this is their favorite tournament every year - not to be missed!
National Online Debate Tournament
For the first time, students can compete in an actual qualifying tournament in December! This national tournament will be online and will be for debate only. This might be a great way to get a jumpstart on the season and qualify early! More details coming soon.
In-Person Practice Tournament (debate only)
Four rounds of in-person debate will give students a taste of what a real tournament is like at this practice tournament in Charleston. The results don’t count towards qualification, but participants always feel like it helps them get over those first-tournament-jitters to go to a practice event that feels real!
Online Practice Tournament for Debate
Debate students will also have a chance to try out the online platform with this practice tournament. Exact times and more details coming soon.
Online Practice Tournament for Speech
This practice tournament gives students a chance to experience the online platform before it really counts. Exact times and more details coming soon.

New Family Orientation
Come investigate our club and learn what is involved in participating with us for the 2023-2024 season! This introductory meeting is intended to give you enough understanding to make an informed decision about choosing this option for your student. The best way to learn about speech & debate is to do it, but our goal in this orientation is to answer as many of your questions as we’re able to so that you can hit the ground running on Sept. 8.
Debate Intensive
All beginner students are invited to join our veteran students for a time of discussion-based activities centered on this year's resolution: In the context of innovation, the proactionary principle ought to be valued above the precautionary principle. We will dive deeply into exploring the ideas inherent in this resolution and have lots of fun getting back into the debate groove and getting acquainted with one another.
Information Meeting
If you have an interest in participating in our club for the coming year, please attend this important introductory meeting with your students. We will present more details about our club, including sample speech and debate presentations by veteran students. This is a no-obligation informational time that will conclude with a Q&A session.
