National Online Debate Tournament

For the first time, students can compete in an actual qualifying tournament in December! This national tournament will be online and will be for debate only. This might be a great way to get a jumpstart on the season and qualify early! More details coming soon.

In-Person Practice Tournament (debate only)

Four rounds of in-person debate will give students a taste of what a real tournament is like at this practice tournament in Charleston. The results don’t count towards qualification, but participants always feel like it helps them get over those first-tournament-jitters to go to a practice event that feels real!

New Family Orientation

Come investigate our club and learn what is involved in participating with us for the 2023-2024 season! This introductory meeting is intended to give you enough understanding to make an informed decision about choosing this option for your student. The best way to learn about speech & debate is to do it, but our goal in this orientation is to answer as many of your questions as we’re able to so that you can hit the ground running on Sept. 8.

All beginner students are invited to join our veteran students for a time of discussion-based activities centered on this year's resolution: In the context of innovation, the proactionary principle ought to be valued above the precautionary principle. We will dive deeply into exploring the ideas inherent in this resolution and have lots of fun getting back into the debate groove and getting acquainted with one another.
